Windows Phone 7 Series was announced at Mobile World Congress today, and many are shocked to see a MSFT phone they find desirable. Clearly, Microsoft’s mobile division can no longer be referred to as an embarrassment. I gotta say, I like that giant type and the touch scrolling - it’s a very light-feeling UI (if you’ve ever used a Zune HD, you get the idea). Others may be interested in the announced Xbox Live integration and Zune capabilities.
This OS also breaks compatibility with WinMo 6.5, which is kind of a giant shock. MSFT is known for maintaining legacy OS codebases for years beyond their practical utility in order to maintain compatibility with beloved third-party applications.
