Who Knew?

Okay, enough already, I get it: Max Martin and his assorted proteges are geniuses at producing dumbmazing pop singles. I loved Britney’s self-titled, and For Your Entertainment was surprisingly great. But Martin has topped himself with Ke$ha’s debut album Animal, creating a perfectly above-average piece of trash even while working with talent that’s pedestrian at best and undeserving at worst. There’s a hilarious contrast between the relatively fast-paced songs on the album and the utter lack of energy Ke$ha invests into her live performances. If you thought The Tonight Show was awful, here she is in front of her actual fans at Lollapalooza.
