Who Knew?

Reblog / Retweet Icons - Tumblr / Twitter

To the right is what I assume is Twitter’s new icon for its upcoming Retweet feature, as posted on Evan Williams’ blog. It’s obvious by now that Twitter’s sticking around for a while on the strength of its brand alone - I had really thought that its horribly-designed website and general faddishness would have forced it to cede ground by now to an open microblogging standard or Facebook’s adoption of similar features. Oh well - my naïveté seems startling in hindsight. In any case, I’m enjoying how Tumblr and Twitter are feeding off of each other’s ideas - like how Tumblr based its directory off of the popular Twitter recommendation service Wefollow.
