Who Knew?

B-Roll [August 11-September 19, 2009]

It’s been a while - I haven’t done one of these since I started working on Condominance.

  • A new chip architecture for location-aware mobile devices doesn’t require help from the network or excessive battery power - this is pretty big.

  • Mixpo partners with NCC to convert conventional cable TV ads into geo-targeted online display ads.

  • The musician Moldover’s album art for his newest CD is printed on a circuit board which doubles as a theremin.

  • Microsoft announced OneApp a while back- it’s a framework for developing applications for feature phones. Aimed at emergent markets, I assume.

  • Philadelphia [narrowly escaped a plan] to shut down all public libraries in October due to budgetary shortcomings.

  • Real D announces Gucci designer 3D glasses in a hilarious attempt to make the theatergoer’s experience more fasionable.
